Those are permissions, and Lynx will pretty much always give them to you
because they're the UNIX permission flags.  For a blind person, they're
probably not all that useful, I admit--you'd much rather have "seven five
five" to "r w x r dash x r dash x" before the name of an executable file.

I was about to suggest midnight commander as an alternative, but that is
far too visual if lynx is annoying you with its ls-long-style directory
view.
