Well, you've asked a pretty open ended and subjective question in my opinion. I use speech and only speech with a DoubleTalk internal synth and speakup obviously. I recommend all of the gcc packages including gdb and emacs as an editor/os combination! 'grin' Beyond that I don't know what to recommend.
