Tommy, The save parameters keystroke is not mentioned in the manual. I've tried numerous times to turn off speech in just the way you suggest, and it doesn't work. I do think I need to be root to run the setup application and have it stick. This will be a big problem when I set up the Elba for my wireless LAN.
