I didn't see the choice for interactive booting that you mention; where was that?
It used to be that blind people didn't install X unless it was for other people using the same computer, but now that work is being done on accessibility, it's something many of us are installing and thus firstboot becomes an issue.
Is there another file to edit for turning cups back on or would one just do the reversal of the chkconfig?
