Hi. The links branches are confusing. Elinks is a branch from links 0.9.6. Links 2.1 is based on links 0.9.8. Elinks fixed several bugs and added features that aren't in links 0.9x. Links 2.1 is the only branch of the links browsers that has java script support. Java script support is planned for elinks, but no date has been set.
