Hello! I had that problem with my computer also. I know that somewhere in the kernel configureation there is an option if you want to have pc speaker support or not. I think that this could be your problem. kristoffer -----Ursprungligt meddelande----- Från: blinux-list-admin@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:blinux-list-admin@xxxxxxxxxx]För Cheryl Homiak Skickat: den 24 augusti 2003 16:38 Till: blinux-list@xxxxxxxxxx Ämne: 2.6.0 test kernel: no beeps when I boot the 2.6.0-test kernel, except for my beep at the lilo prompt, I lose all beeps: the ones I have set up to happen atl= login, the ones that usually happen when I backspace to the beginning of the line and try to backspace one time too many, the ones I get when I try to use tab for a completion and there isn't an appropriate completion to what I've written. In some ways it's nice not to have the beeps at times, but I hadn't realized how much I depended on them to know what was happening without glancing at my display or listening to speech. Has anybody had this problem or does anybody have an idea what would cause it? I haven't got sound working either, but the speaker beeps have always worked in the past whether my sound card was up and running or not. If this was my laptop I'd say it was on mute, but this is my desktop. Thanks.
