First, you need to bind the file extension to the desired mime type. Add to (or
create) $HOME/.mime.types a line like:

    application/x-megadots .meg

Then define the viewer for that mime type. Add to (or create) $HOME/mailcap a
line like:

    application/x-megadots; mdviewer %s

If the output of the viewer is text which can be viewed in-line with the
message, then add to this line as follows:

    application/x-megadots; mdviewer %s; copiousoutput
