I successfully compiled eflite with changes you wrote.For all of those who were asking, you should be able to get eflite to work with flite's 16-bit voice by changing FL_VOX = cmu_us_kal to FL_VOX = cmu_us_kal16 in the eflite Makefile, after first ensuring that the 16-vit flite voice is available.
