Hi All,

I'm currently learning assembly using an assembler in the DOS box under
Windows. I asked the author of the assembler whether he had a Linux version
and he answered "no", but that he thought his assembler would work in the
DOS box under Linux.

First, is there a DOS box, say, in Redhat or Slackware?

Secondly, I doubt that my assembled programs would work in Linux if
they're assembled in the DOS box. Am I right?

Third, if I'm right, how much trouble is it to port a DOS assembled
program to Linux? Is it simply a matter of re-assembling using a Linux-based
assembler? Or, can I just flip a bit or something?

Thanks,

Walt
