Cut-and-paste can be done in text mode via the mouse if gpm is running. This,
of course, is difficult for a blind person. You use braille, though, and BRLTTY
supports cut-and-paste. I don't remember which braille display you use, so I
can't tell you which key combinations implement this functionality. You should
be able to figure it out from the display's help mode.
