Then you'll have to find a server that provides those gateways
(gateways available are shown by /agents command) : I can't say which
one, but large public servers may offer all gateways, see
www.jabber.org, section public servers.

You have some data in .imcom, others are loaded on the jabber server
you created your contact with : your contact, let's say
dave@a.jabber.sit is your identifier, each time you go on jabber, you
have to knock at this a.jabber.sit server.  You can't change server
without changing contact.

I don't really know.  I can add that when you're on jabber, you'll use
/reg command to add a transport agent to your profile.  I recommand
the www.jabber.org documentation too.
