Hi Michael, The system I have set up for a Linux box is a 300 MHz computer with 64mb ram, a 6.4gb hard drive with a soundblaster 16 and a 40x cd rom. I am using a program called Speakup to get everything installed and this particular program requires that you have a hardware synthesizer such as the Double Talk. Another good list for these questions isBlinux-newbie which you may send a message to: blinux-newbie-request@braille.uwo.ca and there are people on their that will help you out as well as this list. I have fiddled in Linux before but now it is getting down to business since I am wanting to set up a web server plus an email server. Hope some of this info helps if you want to contact me privately you may do so at: n7zib@tritel.net and I will be glad to help the best I can.
