All distributions already archive the individual packages in superior archive formats (zip is pretty dated, and M$ specific), usually *.tgz, *.tar.gz, *.deb, or *.rpm. If the zip archiver (which is available for linux) is configured properly, it will not try to compress these archives again, thereby actually increasing their size a bit. So you would gain little or nothing by zipping the ISO image, or rest assured, they would already be shipped (or posted) in this way. LCR -- L. C.
