Hi. Again, the unmodified red hat disk is working; the modified one(s) are not working, so I'm not sure this could be a syslinux problem. My laptop is an Ibm thinkpad, not a toshiba, though this certainly doesn't rule out bugs with the toshiba as well. Cheryl
