bookshare inaccessible?

who ever said running linux didn't have a downside.

besides, if linux is so adaptable and wonderful, how come it can't manage to
do this? what is it about the sitewhich won't work in Linux?

---

Of course if it were my website, it woulden't be an issue, and it's also
worth noting you can get to the files on the nls website with linux ust fine
(at least last time I tried)
I can't see how security has to be that different.

Of course the irony isn't lost on me (accessibility project being
inaccessible) but you really should expect this being a linux user.

btw, has anyone tried the libraries for bringing up guis in text mode? the
tag line on slashdot was about
Conquorer in text-mode.

</stream of consiousness>

Janina just informed me bookshare doesn't have accessible software for
linux yet.
Sorry, from the thread I read I thought somebody had resolved it.
I think that's really rotten of them to set it up so it's inaccessible to
linux
and then not even make that clear to people while they are giving their big
sales plug!
It's like if you are blind and a non-windows user, you don't even
exist!
Nothing at bookshare that says "accessible only to Windows users"--at least
not
that I found; just
trumpetting about their wonderful new service that i could have thrown $75
down
the drain for.!
Fine, if it's not accessible, they could at least state that clearly. They
certainly made the demo page accessible; very misleading!
