If you use my edbrowse utility, http://www.eklhad.net/linux/app/ you can edit the directory, type dw for directory write mode, then type ,s/ /_/g I didn't know if I'd ever use directory mode, when I wrote it, but now I'm using it all the time. Another big annoyance for blind people is those upper case letters that windows folks use all the time. To make all files lower case, edit the directory as above, and type ,s/.*/lc/ I also use this utility to give files shorter, more manageable names. Karl
