Hi, The default value for that option is 3. I explicitly set it but it makes no difference. As I say it works fine when root executes slogin with -l option set to my user name, but not when I login as that user name and try to connect. I get: "too many failed userauth_requests" even though I have the same user name on the remote machine as local. Fredrik
