The Redhat version of FreeAMP "Free Audio Music Player" is at url:

http://www.freeamp.org/download/rh6x/freeamp-2.1.0-1.i386.rpm

I don't know if there is a command-line version in the RedHat package.
but, there is the .rpm file for you. Have fun. I use slackware kernol 7.1
myself. Slackware 8.0 comes with the Speak-up kernol for most external
synths.
