Dear AGL Community Members, As Walt Announced previously, previous Virtualization Expert Group and Container Expert Group have been merged into a new expert group combining expertise of two original groups in VirtIO and Micro-service orchestration to drive forward AGL development on SDV with even greater speed and efficiency. Along with this merge, our expert group would like to hold an open vote to collect community members' opinions about the appropriate name for the new EG. We would like to invite you to vote via the following link by 2023/05/28 (Sun). https://forms.office.com/r/WSjkq6LD1z The candidates for new EG name are as follows: ① Software Defined Vehicle Expert Group (SDV-EG) Pros: Most Trendy and Attractive in terms of advertising AGL activities Cons: Lose detailed info about technical focus ② Virtualization & Containers Expert Group (VC-EG) Pros: Technically specific and reflect the exact activities that EG is working on Cons: Long and technical (hard to remember for non-tech members) ③ Virtualization Expert Group (Virt-EG) Pros: Relative short but still technically specific (containerization is one way to "virtualize") Cons: Lose information about container and seems no changes from previous years outside of AGL community. Please note that this will be a weighted voting giving higher weight for members who frequently participated in the past EG activities based on the participating times (maximum weight plus: x2).
