Please find below a brief summary of the progress Collabora has made last week.
Week 16 (2023)
Weston/Wayland

- SPEC-4705 (Re-activation of
application after a hot plug event missing area for the wayland
output) - provided octopus backports. This required pre-merging
some homescreen backports as well, together with the compositor
to be able to perform the integration.SPEC-4529 (Pass the output
from applications to shell client) - Added a implementation for
master, but we won't be able carry this back to octopus and
older versions.
- SPEC-4759 (agl-shell-app-id in
output section is not respected) - further investigation into
this issues seems to be related to applications not providing an
app_id at the initial surface commit. Fix for master has been
added, while a fix for octopus might not be trivial. Looking
into it.
- SPEC-4673 (Provide
implementation for the stubs in gRPC proto implementation) -
performed additional testing giving that a few issues have been
identified related to output placement. Plan is to finish with
it this week, to be able to move windows dynamically between
outputs using the gRPC interface.
