Hi All, Please find below a brief summary of the progress Collabora have made last week on Weston/Wayland and Pipewire. Weston / Wayland Marius: - SPEC-3817 (Client that performs cmd line switching of applications), finished integration as simple client + script running as root + adding a recipe to build it - Further testing of chromium84 on qemu coupled with investigation into activation issue. Discussions with Igalia on some problems discovered whilst testing: panel not mapping due to timing issue with multiple surfaces, and a few protocol errors causing some blank screens when booting up. Pipewire / WirePlumber Raghavendra: - Nothing to report IC Sound Manager George: - SPEC-3900: Finished uploading fixes for the stuttering issue and for the Kingfisher radio that was not playing - Updated PipeWire & WirePlumber on master to their latest versions for LL M1 - Reviewed Julian's port configuration changes MR - Fixed an architecture-dependent crash in the unit tests, which only occurred on 32-bit architectures - Started working on merging Raghavendra's documentation changes: rebased the commits on master and squashed commits appropriately. Julian: - Finished implementing adapter interface in wireplumber audio items, and used it in standard link item to delay node port configuration until nodes are about to be linked. This enables proper channel upmixing / downmixing. - Created upstream MR with port configuration delay changes, and addressed all comments from George: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pipewire/wireplumber/-/merge_requests/144 - Started improving error handling when creating pipewire objects in wireplumber using the factory name. Kind regards, Nick
