Collabora weekly progress w/e 28th February 2021

Please find below a brief summary of the progress Collabora have made last week on Weston/Wayland and Pipewire.

Weston / Wayland

Marius

- SPEC-3629 (Demo camera streaming) - wrote simple native app camera-gstreamer. Requires a udev rule to gain access to the video device to survive across reboots. So far, haven't able to do dmabuf with the CSI camera v2.

- Added SPEC-3823 (related to SPEC-3796) to track issue with CI failing to install homescreen service

- SPEC-3818 (cluster dashboard opens on second display when multiple displays are enabled) - initial discussions. Need to test/investigate why forwarding doesn't appear to be working w/ clauster-gauges app.

- SPEC-3796 (Cannot re-launch GUI application after it is killed by kill command) - cherry-picking fixes to koi and jellyfish.

Pipewire & WirePlumber (IC Sound Manager)

- Experimented with, debugged and fixed upstream issues related to running PipeWire as a system-wide daemon (as opposted to a user service):

- Experimented with and enabled support for running the session manager (WirePlumber & pipewire-media-session upstream) using a systemd service unit (instead of having PipeWire to launch it):

- Reworked again the PipeWire-related recipes in meta-agl and sumbitted a draft in gerrit:

- DONE: Finished setting up development environment for agl-service-audiomixer

- DONE: Finished porting agl-service-audiomixer to wireplumber 0.4 API

- WIP: Testing new agl-service-audiomixer changes
