Building AGL with Yocto / Bitbake yields Warnings but no results

Hello all,

I have recently tried to build AGL for Raspberry Pi 3 using the following documentation:
http://docs.automotivelinux.org/master/docs/getting_started/en/dev/reference/source-code.html

However, there is no output image being generated. I suspect this is due to the following warning:

WARNING: No bb files matched BBFILE_PATTERN_agl-distro '^/home/daniel/meta-agl/meta-agl-distro/'

I made sure all the prerequisites mentioned in the link above are met and that the downloaded source of AGL is the latest stable release (flunky flounder).

Is there any foolproof way of building I could alternatively try or did anyone else encounter the same problem yet?

My system a Ubuntu 16.04 x64 VM running in VirtualBox. I tried the procedure on a real Ubuntu 16.04 machine too but got the same results.

I would really appreciate any kind of help at this point.

Thanks in advance and best regards.
