Thanks for the update Venkata.

In case of projection option, you mention that "apps running on the phone but does not mirror the screen as it is." I am not able to understand this clearly, could you please elaborate it? If this is similar to Android Auto, then it the screen on the mobile should blank out though the apps run on the mobile and the IVI unit should display the screen of the App.

Does AGL have some requirement specifications, use cases and finally code base which implements it? Any documentation in regards to SDL features, use cases and its usage, integration with the code shall definitely help to understand the concepts better!

I believe your understanding is correct.
AGL I believe is not supporting screen mirroring as such , but does support  SmartDeviceLink (SDL in short).
SDL is a projection technology where the IVI makes use of the apps running on the phone but does not mirror the screen as it is.
SDL is similar to AndroidAuto or Apple Carplay .

Hi eyeryone !

The Release Candidate 6 of Funky Flounder
is now available on the flounder (!) branch in git as tag flounder_5.99.6.

Release notes, information on downloading the source code, prebuilt
binaries, or setting up git can be found at [1].

Release artifacts:
https://download.automotivelinux.org/AGL/release/flounder/5.99.6/

The goal of the RC6 is to fix instabilities. As there were a few more
bugs pending, *we will do an RC7*.

Known bugs found in RC5:
- 4a needs manual intervention on some platforms.
- Occasional crashes of homescreen (partially fixed already)

For upcoming releases candidates any "must-fix" bug needs to be tagged
with the "FF-must-fix" label in Jira.
If there is a defect you think should be considered a must fix for an
upcoming patch release either

a) Create change on the master branch in gerrit.
b) Indicate a change is required for Flounder in Jira.

Please create a JIRA  and assign it to Jan-Simon Moeller for consideration.

 Hi all,
? ? ? ?The AGL Connectivity Roadmap,?agl-roadmap [Automotive Linux Wiki]?under "From App FW and Security EG" mentions an activity - "Secure applications running on a remote device such as mobile phone or tablet that are rendered on the IVI system."
? ? ? I presume the above talks of support of feature similar to "screen mirroring" and/or "app casting" from mobile to the Head units having IVI based on AGL. A mobile in the car would be able to screen/cast its contents on the IVI system, though the actual application runs on mobile, the IVI displays the mobile screen.?Is my understanding correct in terms of the activity mentioned, or is it something else? Do we have some requirement specs., use cases in this regard?
? ? ? Also, is this under implementation or in the pipeline?
Regards,P. M. Kulkarni
