The only thing that was changed in the handleing of primary partitions was a check to see if the partition ran off the end of the disk and whether it has non-zero start and length logical block addresses. Maybe M$ doing some kind of address rollover or negitive addressing, not sure yet. Are you a coder? It would be very interresting if you could send a tarballed dd of the first block of the first drive to the mailing list so I can see which end is up. Heinz, do you have any objection to us carrying this out on the mailing list. I just like the advantage that somebody might learn something and someone may have a better idea. On 2.6.10, I've heard it has issues, but don't have any personel experience with it. Just trying to put it off as long as possible since it didn't make your partition go away 8~). In an earlier message I asked you if you had done an mkfs, well that was in error. It should have been format. I sent out a correction, but it never reached the list. > > Here's the output, in case it's useful for some of you. > orange@clandestine: $ sudo dmraid -a y -vv . . . > NOTICE: added /dev/hde to RAID set "pdc_daicbgifh" > NOTICE: added /dev/hdf to RAID set "pdc_daicbgifh" > INFO: Activated mirror RAID set "pdc_daicbgifh" > NOTICE: discovering partitions on "pdc_daicbgifh" > NOTICE: /dev/mapper/pdc_daicbgifh: dos discovering > NOTICE: /dev/mapper/pdc_daicbgifh: dos metadata discovered > NOTICE: created partitioned RAID set(s) for /dev/mapper/pdc_daicbgifh > INFO: Activated partition RAID set "pdc_daicbgifh1" > > I'm using 2.6.10 if that's intresting. > > Cheers, > Örjan > The Lone Guineapig, Paul __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
