Booting a ICH5R array from Grub

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi

I recently installed Fedora Core 3 on a separate PATA IDE disk
together with the Grub bootloader. I've got several windows paritions
(including windows boot) on a SATA RAID0 array.

After installing dmraid and the NTFS tools I was able to map and mount
these partitions in FC3, but one question remains: How can I boot
windows from on my stripe through Grub on the new PATA disk?

As it is now I'm forced to press F8 at boot to get a boot menu from my
ASUS P4P800 and then select either the array or the PATA disk with
grub on it, but it would be nice to avoid that. I read in the archives
about installing Grub to a ICH5R array, but I don't feel entirely
comfortable with that, and it should be just as easy going the other
way around... or?

Thanks for any help!
