I recently purchased the Promise Fasttrack s150 TX4 because it was one of the cheaper cards that boasted linux support. I'me becoming a bit irritated with it though as it does not list any actual device in /dev/rd/* that I can see.

The /dev/rd/ device are only used by mylex scsi raid controllers. This is due to the fact that lnz implimented his dac960 driver as a block device instead of a scsi device. Most raid controllers are implimented as scsi drivers, and use the /dev/sd* dvices. Those few that are block devices have their own directory in /dev like cciss, compaq, and i2o.
