the promise ide-drive does the same as in windows:
it emulates a scsi-device, thats why it depends on scsi_mod.
the pdcraid driver (opensource one, shipped with the kernel) does not
emulate a scsi-device.
as far as i have raed in this mallinglist the tx2000 is not suported
only in 2.4.19 or later....
