Does the hole thing support disks >256 GB?

My HPT... manual sais, it doesnt support arrays with >256 GB. Did you try
to update the BIOS of the controller?

Perhaps linux's ataraid-drivers dont support drives (arrays) >256 GB?

Perhaps you can try a 3 disk RAID0 with 240 GB, and if this works fine, it
could be the 256GB treshold...

I cant imagine anything else...
