Not really. lilo and grub alter the boot sectors, but linux fdisk (cfdisk is better) just works with the partition tables. If you're stuck,and want to put a standard boot sector on, you could get a disk from www.bootdisks.org, or use a downloadable tool from your disk manufacturer - most support "initialising" a new mbr.
