Problem with Kernel 2.5

Hallo,
 
I want to install a Fasttrak TX2000 in my Linux Box; the 2.4 Kernel Series seems to unrecognize it; instead, the 2.5.30 version see it but give me an error if i try to compile the kernel with the ataraid module; the problem seems related to the generic_make_request function of ll_rw_block.c.
