As far as i know, RAID 1 is not supported by the ataraid/htpraid-driver.

(Does anybody know more about this? I would like to help improving the
driver but didnt get any answer yet)

Try using the commercial driver.
But the commercial driver is a module, so you will not be able to install
to a raid1 device.

Solution: install on one disk only and then create the
raid1. But it might be a little tricky to boot from it, since the module
must be loaded first and this will require mounting a device...

Note: You should update the cards bios to version 2.x if not already
present.. (before installation!)

Viele Grüsse,
Thorsten
