I'm running into a wierd issue using the Promise Fasttrak driver in RH 7.3. When I recompile the 2.4.18-3BOOT kernel to support the fasttrak chipset.* I get the following error from the installer. "The kernel was unable to re-read the partition table on hde". At 1st I thought this was entirely a driver issue, but if I drop to a shell durning the install and run fdisk, sfdisk, and parted. I can reread the partition no issues. If I select the option of using fdisk from the installer. The partition table is unable to be reread. As far as I can tell once I enter any of the partitioning screens I can't reread the partition table. Anyone have any ideas what the redhat installer is doing to cause the issue? *I used the options from kernel-2.4.18-i386-BOOT.config, and changed the following options to y: CONFIG_PDC202XX_BURST=y CONFIG_PDC202XX_FORCE=y
