Hello List: How would I go about patching this kernel or the hpt366.c and ide-pci.c files to make the controller able to withstand detection. I don't want to use the firmware raid really although I recognize hptraid.o.gz to be just that. If only I could add those two lines of code to my antiquated sources recompile properly. I new to linux but rather not. I just have never really had to recompile a kernel before this weekend. -- How do you patch a kernel? patchkernel*
