You are not going to find a driver from Promise for 7.3 for awhile. 7.3 uses the 2.4.18-x kernel, and Promise have only released drivers for <=7.2. If you want to use a drive on that controller, I would suggest plugging in your HD into 1 of your regular IDE ports, installing 7.3. Rebuilding kernel with support for IDE raid ( I would build the promise stuff into the kernel ), and then building your lilo with /dev/ataraid/d0p1 ( I assume ) for the new kernel build. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :: Webhosting.net :: Anton Resnick > Operations ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :: 1450 North Miami Avenue :: Miami, Florida, 33136 :: Tel +1 305 400-6700 :: Fax +1 305 371-2058 :: Mobile +1 305 753-5858 :: anton@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx :: www.webhosting.net -----Original Message----- From: ataraid-list-admin@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ataraid-list-admin@xxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Randall J. Installation on my new system with a Gigabyte 8IXRP motherboard fails because it does not detect any hard drives. The Gigabyte 8IXRP has an on-board Promise PDC 20276 RAID controller. I need to find / create a driver disk for the Promise PDC 20276 that I can use to install RedHat 7.3. Gigabyte's site only lists Windows drivers for PCD 20276 The Promise site has a marketing page about the PCD 20276 but no links to drivers. The Promise site has a Linux area but all access is via a list of Promise retail products. The list does not include any of links for MB embedded products. Is there a driver available? Can I use the driver for one of the retail products? Which one? FastTrak100 TX, ...?
