hpt370, raid & installation...

Hi,

I've been trawling mail archives, but haven't been able to find exactly what
i'm after...

What I'd love to do, is install redhat 7.1 on an raid0 set, using the hpt370
controller. The catch is, that the system is SMP (it's an Abit VP6) so the
drivers on the highpoint page won't work...

I found :
http://people.redhat.com/arjanv/pdcraid/ataraidhowto.html

but haven't been able to patch it into a 2.4.16 kernel properly... if i do
end up patching successfully, it's not going to solve the other "wishlist"
item - installing redhat onto this controller...

I'm afraid I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to this - are there any tars
i can stick on a disk when installing redhat so that it knows what it's
looking at?

Cheers,

Chris Herrmann
