All, I have successfully patched lilo 21.7.5 (used in Slackware 8.0) from http://www.rug-rats.org/~wilfried/ whose patched lilo version is from 21.7.3 I did this by obtaining the "vanilla" 21.7.3 lilo source code and then doing a diff -ur against both directories. Mad a second copy of the 21.7.5 code (for the soon-to-be patched version) and then applied this diff. Redid the diff the diff -ur against the 21.7.5 "vanilla" and patched directories to obtain the 21.7.5 "final" patch. Incidentally, the applied patch created 3 files with <file>~, the original unpatched backup version of the file. I created a sub-directory in the 21.7.5-Patched source tree and put them there (just in case ...). Everything compiled and installed OK.
