Hi Tasos,

are there error messages in your kernel log from that boot (`systemctl -k -b`)?
Does alsamixer show the devices? Are channels maybe muted?

What does `aplay -l` show on each kernel?

How do you playback files?

Do you use pulseaudio? If so, what does `pactl list short` show on each
kernel?

Do you use JACK? If so, how do you start it and is it started on the
correct device?

Best,
David
