Spell checking is done by the text editor library ktexteditor, which has sonnet in its dependency tree.

Sonnet dropped support for enchant 10 years ago. Nuspell has never been directly supported. Wherever you're getting your info from, it's severely outdated.

Kate doesn't use threadweaver at all.
