Good thought, but ...

error: config file /etc/pacman.conf, line 38: value for 'ParallelDownloads'
has to be positive : '0'

So it appears we have a new "feature" that is rendered a "bug" for some
because it cannot be turned off :(


From pacman.conf(5):

ParallelDownloads
Specifies number of concurrent download streams. The value needs to be a positive integer. If this config option is not set then only one download stream is used (i.e. downloads happen sequentially).
