Or just wait a few versions untill the installer finally drops you into a 
fully setup gnome.

the init script doesnt reconfigure shit, it just runs the ifconfig commands 
you put in rc.conf. Fix them.  Or wait for gnome having a network config gui, 
like kde already has.
