I've never tried this module, but I don't think it solves your
problem. I believe that it is designed to redirect to a descriptive
error message IN ADDITION to the client-generated error. I don't see
how you can avoid the client certificate error, because that would
create a security problem. (If you access an https site, you expect to
have a secure connection for all transmitted information -- even a
redirect.)

Is there a way that this modules will be integrated in mod_ssl one day ?
