[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello.
I recently did a yum upgrade on my centos 4.3 mail server. As soon as
the upgraded completed, my apache quite working. When I do
a /usr/sbin/apachectl start i get no output, a restart reports "httpd
not running, trying to start" and stop reports: httpd (no pid file) not
running"

I'm using apache version: Apache/2.0.52

and complete setup is:
Server version: Apache/2.0.52
Server built: Aug 13 2006 03:29:43
Server's Module Magic Number: 20020903:9
Architecture: 32-bit
Server compiled with....
 -D APACHE_MPM_DIR="server/mpm/prefork"
 -D APR_HAS_SENDFILE
 -D APR_HAS_MMAP
 -D APR_HAVE_IPV6 (IPv4-mapped addresses enabled)
 -D APR_USE_SYSVSEM_SERIALIZE
 -D APR_USE_PTHREAD_SERIALIZE
 -D SINGLE_LISTEN_UNSERIALIZED_ACCEPT
 -D APR_HAS_OTHER_CHILD
 -D AP_HAVE_RELIABLE_PIPED_LOGS
 -D HTTPD_ROOT="/etc/httpd"
 -D SUEXEC_BIN="/usr/sbin/suexec"
 -D DEFAULT_PIDLOG="logs/httpd.pid"
 -D DEFAULT_SCOREBOARD="logs/apache_runtime_status"
 -D DEFAULT_LOCKFILE="logs/accept.lock"
 -D DEFAULT_ERRORLOG="logs/error_log"
 -D AP_TYPES_CONFIG_FILE="conf/mime.types"
 -D SERVER_CONFIG_FILE="conf/httpd.conf"

There is nothing reported in the error log. Also parsing the config
file with /usr/sbin/httpd -t gives: " Syntax OK"
But I do notice that the hpttd.pid file is missing. I've tried
uninstalling and reinstalling the RPM but with no luck.

The yum upgrade results are :

Has this happened to anyone before? Any idea what happened the .pid
file? Any help with this issue would be much appreciated.
