RE: [users@httpd] Starting Apache

Rob,

Thanks for your quick response. I checked and I do not have a directory
/var/log/httpd. In var/log I do have lots of log files - adduser,
auth.log, cron, dmesg.today, ftp.log, lastlog, maillog,
messages,mount.today, ppp.log, sendmail, setuid.today, slip.log, userlog
and wtmp. I displayed several of these and the only one, which looked
like it contained something you might want to see is messages.
Following is the last portion of that file. Again thanks in advance for
any suggestions you can give.

See if you have more logs in /var/log/httpd. Those may provide
additional information if they exist.

fine until storms took out the power over the July 4th week-end and the
system needed to be re-started. This system was set up by a third party
company who no longer provides support. So, I am trying to determine
what the problem is. The Unix system itself starts and all of the
processes that I expect, except Apache.
