IMO removing the "experimental" branch from normal modules
was a mistake.  It leaves no way to signal to users that a module
(as opposed to an entire release) has a status of "we believe it
works, but it hasn't had enough real-world exposure yet
to say for certain".

I can't reconcile your complaint Nick - he opened his comment that it's an
experimental MPM.  How did Graham's comment imply that he didn't understand
it's still experimental?
