Erm, I can't imagine that was valid in *any* 2.x, unless it was
compiled with some kind of 1.x compatibility wrapper.  But it looks
more like something you'd find in a module for Apache 1.x.

Given how long it is since mod_fastcgi was maintained, that seems plausible.
The more up-to-date mod_fcgid works just fine - and (if he's applied
my patch or equivalent by now) compiles cleanly on 2.2.0.

There are a very few things you may have to change to compile 2.0
modules.  The first one might take you an hour; after that they'll
be ten-minute jobs.  Unless perhaps you have 2.0 modules that
have been deeply problematic all along.
