-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Um, let's back up a moment. Just because I install something doesn't mean it's set to be started at boot time. On Gentoo, for example, I have to run rc-update to add a daemon to system startup. On Red Hat the equivalent is called check[somethingorother]. On MS Windows each package has its own gadget for inventing the service that runs it. Before you go removing any packages I'd suggest finding out whether Apache is set up to start automagically at boot. If Apache is started and is listening on the expected port(s) then another thing to look at is firewalls. I've lost more time than I care to recall in troubleshooting things that weren't working because I hadn't run 'iptables' to update the network access rules for the box. :-/ - -- Mark H.
