I assume that RedirectMatch /$ should have been RedirectMatch ^/$ Could you tell us what happens when this does not work? Do you have a trace from LiveHTTPHeaders (Firefox) or from HTTPWatch (MSIE) ? Could you show us a trace from your access_log showing what happens when you request http://specific-app.berkeley.edu ? And BTW: isn't there anyone at Berkeley that can help you with this problem?? -ascs -----Original Message----- From: Robert F Hall [mailto:rfhall@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, August 04, 2005 11:07 AM To: users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [users@httpd] need help w/Apache redirect This *should* be simple, but is not working for us. We are using Apache 1.3.27. We are trying to redirect requests to a particualr host name (an alias) to the real host name and a specific URL. For example, if http://specific-app.berkeley.edu is requested, we need it to be redirected to http://hostname.berkeley.edu/specific-context/index.jsp We have tried the following in httpd.conf and no joy (with and w/o 'index.jsp') <VirtualHost specific-app.berkeley.edu> RedirectMatch /$ http://hostname.berkeley.edu/specific-context/index.jsp Redirect /index.jsp http://hostname.berkeley.edu/specific-context/index.jsp Redirect /index.html http://hostname.berkeley.edu/specific-context/index.jsp </VirtualHost> Thanks, Robert --------------------------------------------------------------------- The official User-To-User support forum of the Apache HTTP Server Project.
