HI - It looks like you're using a windows machine for your server. What the message seems to mean (to me at least) is that apache is looking in C:\program files\apache group\apache2\ for your cgi file simplets.pl. Check to see if it's really where apache thinks it should be. Then make sure perl is enabled in apache. (check the docs - I'm not sure about the windows version - I use FreeBSD). Beyond this, does the directory need to be shared? Is your AliasScripts in httpd.conf (or whatever the windows version uses) pointed at the correct directory? That's all I can think of just now. Hi all,If you are going to reply to this email, please send the reply directly to my email address, not to the mailing list. I use the digest version. I thought I'd want to add some CGI scripts to my website yesterday. I followed the documentation, and created a test page that should print "Hello World!" to the screen. When I executed the script by typing http://24.156.102.171/cgi-bin/simplest.pl, I get "500 Internal Server Error". When I checked my error logs, I found these two entries: [Fri Feb 25 19:43:23 2005] [error] [client 192.168.1.6] (OS 3)The system cannot find the path specified. : couldn't create child process: 720003: simplest.pl [Fri Feb 25 19:43:23 2005] [error] [client 192.168.1.6] (OS 3)The system cannot find the path specified. : couldn't spawn child process: C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache2/cgi-bin/simplest.pl Could anyone tell me what those mean? Feel free to try my test page out at http://24.156.102.171/cgi-bin/simplest.pl. Could anyone tell me how to fix the problem? I am a newbie. Help is appreciated, and so are comments and suggestions.
