This will probably help.  windows active directory is essentially a hacked version of LDAP.  More notably as with other services in windows, it's probably in violation of gnu licensing.  It also uses kerberos.  I digress.  Since it is a glorified LDAP server, you can use ldap facilities.  This article will probably help you.

search terms were: apache authenticat using windows active directory

Hi All,

Can anyone please help me on this? It is very critical project for me...

We (random people on the Internet) are not going to do your job for you. If you make a good faith attempt to implement a solution using published documentation and the solution fails to work people on mailing lists will try to help you. But you have to, at a minimum, make an attempt to solve the problem. Your two emails imply you have not done even that much work. If you have attempted a solution please provide details and relevant information from experiments you have performed that will help us understand why your solution isn't working. Doing so will greatly increase the probability that someone will help you.

I want to know step by step procedure to do Single Sign-On setup for Windows AD authentication on apache web server (http server). And once that user is authenticated then request will be redirected to tomcat application server which hosts the application.

Apache web server is on Windows machine and Windows AD server is also on windows machine.

I have been trying to look for the solution to this since last two weeks but I am not able to get answer to it.
I have read on one article that windows AD authentication for windows apache web server only works for Internet Explorer only. Is that true?

Please help me out here. This is very crucial for my project and deadline is already passed. :(

Please let me know in case of any other queries.

Thanks & Regards,
Ashish Mistry
